We all have questions about life—questions we direct to the universe, to God, to nature, and to eternity itself. We spend our lives seeking answers, some of us finding them, others not. Yet, life offers answers in various forms. Some find them through success, others through reputation, relationships, or spiritual practices. The search for these answers is universal, though some may never find them in a single lifetime. It is said that perhaps the answers come in another life.
I spent years chasing the answers to life’s questions, only to feel lost and miserable. But then, motherhood brought me the clarity I had been seeking. I’m not sure if I found all the answers or if my questions simply disappeared. What I do know is that my purpose became clear once I became a mother.
As a child, I watched my mom, aunts, and sisters—women whose lives seemed to revolve entirely around their children. I used to wonder what purpose they had, thinking they had no life of their own. But now, Shiwan has become my world—my source of joy, motivation, and the answer to my own quest. I realize now how vast and joyful the universe must feel, seeing us all as her children. It’s the act of creation that we all long for. For some, this creativity lies not in their children but in other pursuits, which also provide answers to their quest for life’s meaning.
A sweet quote I found related to motherhood,
“There is such a special sweetness in being able to participate in creation.” —Pamela S. Nadav
