Throughout the years, I’ve known myself to be an emotional person, often restless and lacking patience. I’ve always been afraid of what the future holds and was worried about what would be my contribution to the society. Despite my passion for making a difference, my intense emotions and mental state hindered me from fulfilling my dreams and ambitions. I was always in a rush to achieve success.
However, over time, from completing high school to university and becoming a mother, I’ve learned valuable lessons from these traits. I now believe in practicing what I preach, embracing slow living and mindfulness. Mindful living, to me, means being fully present in the moment, without judgment, and not overly concerned about the future. I take joy in life’s beauty and continuously learn from my experiences, forming my own personal definition of mindful living.
Although this approach has led me to a more serene state of mind, it hasn’t been an easy journey. I faced loneliness and had to let go of the society´s definition of what success is. Sometimes, it meant relinquishing my dearest dreams. But the mantra that has been guiding me every day is “trust the process.” Embracing this idea has been a game changer in my personal development journey. The process may take time and comes with tests and lessons, but eventually, it helps us understand everything that has happened along the way.
